Blast From My Past
M.A.S.K.
The Kenner M.A.S.K. toy line was a beloved franchise of the 1980s, launched in 1985. The acronym M.A.S.K. stood for Mobile Armored Strike Kommand, a fictional special forces team fighting against the evil V.E.N.O.M. (Vicious Evil Network of Mayhem and Destruction). The toy line consisted of action figures, vehicles, and playsets, each with its own unique features and accessories. The figures were known for their elaborate masks, which doubled as helmets, and the vehicles were designed to resemble real-world cars, trucks, and motorcycles.
The M.A.S.K. toy line was notable for its innovative play features, such as the 'quick-change' mask system, which allowed kids to easily swap out masks and accessories. The franchise also spawned a popular animated television series, which aired from 1985 to 1986. The show followed the adventures of Matt Trakker, the leader of M.A.S.K., and his team as they battled V.E.N.O.M. and its sinister leader, Arch-Vile. The M.A.S.K. toy line and TV series have since become nostalgic favorites among many who grew up in the 1980s.
